The full Cinderella experience!

The long awaited visit to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique finally came for Gianna on Wednesday. She has been saving her money and preparing for this experience for almost 6 months. In turn, it's been great bribery material as well.

We arrived at BBB at 1:50pm, 10 minutes prior to our 2 pm appointment. Word on the interwebs is that unless you're the first appointment, or going at an insanely low crowd season, the BBB pretty much always runs behind anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. Knowing that, I didn't plan our dinner until 4:30pm. I planned an early dinner reservation also knowing that Cinderella's royal table (the restaurant inside the giant castle) also typically runs behind. Long story short, we were first called back by a "Fairy Godmother in training" (FGIT) to have a wardrobe change at 2:20pm. We got Gi into her Cinderella dress, and then about 10ish minutes after being led back to the waiting area, we were called for her makeover. There were 3 photopass photographers rotating among all the stations (roughly 10 makeover hairs, give or take) to capture all those magical moments. When we get home, I will download those pictures and add them here. One FGIT got started on her hair, and a few minutes later another showed up to do the little princesses makeup and nails. Both interacted with the princess and myself and grandma a lot... It was truly magical. One of the best parts is when the FGIT tells the princess to think
Of a wish, and when she has it - she waves a wand which magically sprinkles pixie dust all over the princess as the princess makes her wish. I could see my little girl's era clinch tightly as she made her wish and he very thoughtful, magical expression on her face as her FGIT completed this part of the makeover. 2nd moment of teary-eyedness!

They do the entire makeover with the princess pointed away from the mirror for a reason. After all is said and done, they pose the princess, putting a pink BBB sash on her and the swing her around for the big reveal. The look on her face was priceless and induced the 3rd moment of teary-eyedness.

Boy, this is just another thing that Disney really nails on the head when it comes to the target audience (little princesses and their parents willing to drop whatever cash required to have a magical moment). That said, it is expensive, but I don't for one second regret spending the dough. It was so incredibly worth every moment of planning and hard work to make her Cinderella dress. It is a moment I will
Remember for the rest of my life!

One last thing we did that was fun... Grandpa, daddy and big brother all had "Princess Protection Agency" T-shirts on that I had made to really tie them into the fun. I think they really enjoyed all the attention they got! Even Tobias (big brother) took it quite seriously and escorted the princess by the arm around the Magic kingdom for the rest of the day, warding off any potential evil-doers. So fun :)

More pics will be added when we get home next week!

Live Rapunzel Report...

Meeting Rapunzel is the big ticket for only a few hundred THOUSAND little girls who visit Disney World this time I year. The line grows to 2-3 hours long sometimes, so we know it's a must do at rope drop.

Unfortunately, we woke up late. We were still at the magic kingdom at about 5 minutes before opening. However, we were at the back of the pack of crowds. We were right by the turnstiles when the MK opened to let people into the park. We got in Lin immediately for Rapunzel and were about 50 people back. The line snaked r turned thru he queue 5 times and I've attached pictures to show you just how massive the crowd was. Thing is, it's only going to get bigger.

So after all that wait, from the middle I the queue... We saw Rapunzel at around 9:55.

Kali River Rapids!

For my liner friends... Who "get me" like so few people do!

Unfortunately there were kids on the ride, so... I ended up warring VERY wet clothes. I hate wet clothes. (butt tennies stayed dry!). I was traveling down the rapids with a little sissy who kept my jacket over his head most ofte time!

A coupon !

I love me some coupons... And we received this coupon on our receipt at Flame Tree BBQ in the Animal Kingdom. A great coupon if you're expecting to make some merchandise purchases later on. I've heard other quick service restaurant give them out as well intermittently. Anyone else get them anywhere??

Lunch at Tobias' favorite restaurant!

Sci-Fi Dine-In... The food is nothing to write home about, but the ambience is soooo cool! You get to sit in 50s style cars "at" an old drive in theater (located inside a big warehouse) complete with stars in the sky!

This awesome restaurant is located inside Disney's Hollywood Studio. It's one of the cheapest table-service meals on property, and a must-do at least once in your lifetime.

Dinner :)

There are so many diverse choices for dinner around WDW property. One of my favorite has to be Raglan Road. Neat atmosphere, amazing food, and If it weren't for the humidity and muggy humidity, you'd truly believe ye were in Ireland...

I had the raglan risotto (mushroom risotto) w/shrimp, Doug had Bangers & Booze (yum), dad had the "Not Chowder" & mom had the Slow ribs with horseradish mash ...I had bites of each and it was all amazing. Highly suggested, even the kids meals were different but still kid friendly. Dad and Doug both enjoyed a Guinness. Even though I could only take a sip due to some meds I'm on, it was still just perfect! And the desserts, well, I can honestly say there's not a bad one of the bunch! Bread pudding was good, but the Bailey's Creme Brûlée torte was something I'll be dreaming abou for nights to come!!

Traveling with kids tip...

One of my most favorite "traveling with kids" tips is to bring an activity bag for each kid. It contains a few of their favorite small toys, but more importantly - new, small trinkets, activity books, coloring books and small markers and stickers... An easy, non messy craft project (small linking chains or beads to make bracelets, etc. I start gathering things from clearance aisles and dollar stores months in advance and hide it all in a special box in my closet. These activity bags are nothing short of sanity savers. They get to open them when we sit down at our gate at the airport.

Here is princess and her grandma playing with the linking chain charm bracelets. And also our little Lego maniac with his activity pack.

Oh, and we just arrived at Disney's Pop Century resort!!!!

On our way!
